Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)

Prescription opioid abuse is complex. Expanding access to MAT is a crucial component of the effort to help patients recover. Increasing patients’ retention in treatment may improve their social functioning and reduce the likelihood of disease transmission and criminal activity.

Best practice for MAT includes a combination of medication and counseling. Counseling includes individual and group counseling, family therapy, and referrals to community-based services. We strive to ensure patient and community safety through safe medication disbursement and adherence to federally regulated protocol.
